After breakfast, we will leave the city of Fes and travel towards the dunes of Merzouga. To get there, we will head towards the Middle Atlas, and visit Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Africa. The next town we will pass through will be Azrou, “the rock”, where we will stop to observe its forest and thus see the monkeys in freedom. Following the path through the Tizi Talghemt or Camel's Neck, at 1,907 meters above sea level, where the relief is impressive since the mountains are completely bare and seem to be covered in a purple coat. We will arrive at Errachidia and on the journey we will be able to observe the Tafilalet massif. We will continue the path through the palm grove of Erfoud and continue along the track until we reach the famous fine sand dunes of Erg Chebbi next to Merzouga. Upon arrival, you will have free time to enjoy the calm of the desert and watch the dunes change color. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
The second day will be dedicated to enjoying the most spectacular part of the Eastern Sahara. We will enter the desert in the 4×4, visit nomadic villages, see oases and ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. Following the route we will visit the famous town of Khamlia where the Gnawa are found, descendants of the slaves who came from Africa, and we will enjoy their surprising folk music. In the evening we will return to the hotel to take the camels that will take us to the Berber camp in the middle of the dunes, where we will spend the night. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
After returning with the camels, we will leave for Rissani – the first imperial city of Morocco, where we can admire its peculiar market, unique in these latitudes, a place where the nomadic tribes of the desert go to obtain supplies. Very curious to see is its donkey parking lot. On the way to Erfoud, we will have a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley with its palm groves and Gorges. And once we pass the port of Tizi-n-Talghomt, we will arrive at Midelt where we will have lunch. Then we will leave on the road towards the cedar forest. We will continue to Fes, the cultural capital of Morocco. End of our services.
